About Me

I’m a software engineer from Modakeke, Nigeria. I wrote my first HTML in 2008 and in the past 12 years, I’ve garnered experience ranging from the design on mobile and web, frontend and backend development, DevOps, talking about technology, and everything in-between.

I love good gospel music (this birthed Gospellyricsng) and anything with great bass progression. I also love good books (you can check some of my previous readings here), and working out at the gym. In 2019, I added a new label “Model” and I’m exploring this.

My Journey to date

I have always been curious about computers — how they work, what powers them, what parts make up the whole, and how to create meaningfully with it. Convinced that this curiosity could lead me somewhere, I studied Computer Science at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho, Oyo State, Nigeria.

In 2008, I made the first step towards becoming a software engineer when, like everyone who finds themselves in this field, I wrote my first HTML code. But it didn’t just stop there. I picked up, quickly, other learning points: Windows desktop application development using C#, WPF, web development using ASP.NET, and PHP.

I have extensive experience with full-stack development tasks and product development using LAMP and MEVN Stack, and technology needs assessment, directing operations, deployment, and support of software projects.

Over the years, here are some of my key achievements include:

  • Co-founded and led the development of Disha Pages, a tool for creators to create a single-page website from their mobile phone, which had over 15, 000 users with over a million visits in the first 8 months. The product was later acquired by Flutterwave, an African fintech unicorn, in July 2021.
  • Co-founded and led a team of developers and designers at Cregital to deploy web software solutions for big brands in Nigeria like Zenith Bank, Transcorp Hotels, Sterling Bank, Glo, Davidwej, E-Health Africa, among others.
  • Led the volunteering team and built the largest indigenous lyrics platform for African gospel music from 18 countries with over 10.2 million visits. Built a community of over 140,000 fans and followers.
  • Developed and sold GTPay and AccessPay payment modules for WordPress which was pivotal in the adoption of online payment in the early days of eCommerce in Nigeria

I’ve played with so many programming languages and tools in the past, some stuck while some didn’t get enough attention.

Family

I met a lovely young lady, Temitayo, in 2012, and asked her out in 2013. We got married 5 years later and people are currently disturbing us for a Baby Rufus. I hope you won’t join them. You may keep up with us here or here.
